There are luscious broad brushstrokes of cyan and yellow, mixed with a transparent purple layer seemingly poured onto the canvas and manipulated by gravity. Sometimes the process is where we can find stability rather than the end result.  

VIOLENT POSITIVITY

This series of artwork is inspired by phrases that are violently positive, rather than making work and trying to come up with a title. Ms. Meikle worked back wards, keeping a phrase in mind while creating the piece. 

A completed abstract artwork from the 'Wake Up' series by Chalice Meikle. This series is inspired by the artist's meditative experience outdoors. Chalice used various techniques and materials including flashe, acrylic paint, paint marker, brushes, nail polish, spatula, stencils, and spray paint. The artwork features layered hues and squiggles of traffic cone orange, lilac, sky blue, purple, grass green, and fire engine red with purple paint marker on top.

This phrase came from the therapeutic book. 

PEACE IS MY VENGEANCE

This series was a bit impulsive, it was a trial and error that became its own series. The Wake Up series has roughly 50 sketches. While using the sketches as a reference, the paint application brought this sustained moment. The painting no longer needed work or paint, it was fine on its own. Sometimes the process is where we can find stability rather than the end result.

Drawing inspiration from sketches in the 'Wake Up' series, the paint application led to a moment of sustained perfection. The painting reached a state where no further work or paint was necessary; it stood complete on its own. The artwork showcases large paint splatters and swipes in lilac, blue, and neon yellow against a mostly white background, reflecting the stability found in the artistic process rather than the final outcome.

This series is just that. While working on multiple paintings, and still trying to find my mark. This series started as a study and became the style I have wanted to create for quite some time. 

NO BOUNDARIES, NO PEACE

Ms. Meikle was highly encouraged to incorporate the figure with her abstract work. This series is just that.

As the artist explored various paintings, aiming to discover her signature style, she was encourage by peers to incorporate figures into her work. This piece features bright shades of lime green, goldenrod orange, sunshine yellow, burgundy and dark blue. The outline of a figure is painted on top in pink and navy blue.
